BIO

My current practice began with my thesis work during my time at OCADU.

MyI have always worked within the theme of ecology and environmentalism. 'The Living Room' work, which is now in its 5th iteration, consists of what looks like a homes living room taken over by plant life. I work with plants and found furniture, and I give something, that's been deemed unusable or discarded, a literal new life and a new purpose.  I look at the human need to control and overcome nature, but propose that nature will always overcome our disruption of it. My work is largely about working with thrown away materials and consumerism and how that impacts on our climate and planet.

My work has a playful explorative aspect to it, where people can interact with nature, formatted in a layout they are already familiar with. I like that public interaction to spark dialogue surrounding the topic and maybe even question their own habits.

I Like the audience to be able to immerse themselves within the work, through touch and smell and being able to be active within my 'rooms.
